Naming the guilt

“What if I’d said no to the sport? What if I’d read the waiver? What if I’d been there?” The what-ifs are loudest at 2 a.m., and they’re almost never fair to you.

You made the best decisions you could with the information you had. Your child got hurt playing a sport they loved — that isn’t a parenting failure. Say it out loud until you believe it.

Care for the caregiver

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Caring for an injured child is a marathon, and you’re the one carrying the water.

Start small: eat something, let someone bring dinner, tell one person what’s really going on. You don’t need a spa day — you need enough to keep showing up. That counts.

Talk to another mom

Advice is everywhere. Being understood is rarer. Sometimes what you need most is another mom who has walked this exact road and can simply say, “I know.”

Tell us a little about your situation and we’ll do our best to connect you with someone who’s been there. Reach out any time — you can stay anonymous.
